Youth Ministry programs allow the youth in our parish community to get together with their peers to learn, share their faith, serve others, have fun, and make the world a better place. Here are just some examples of how they can get involved:
- Throughout the school year, there are social events for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, called Middle School Madness. Not only are all of these events fun, but they also help our youth build community, develop morality and ethics. They also give our youth opportunities to pray together and to share their faith.
- Also, periodically, we head out for a Serve and Play Release Day when school is not in session. We spend our morning serving others in our community and then "play" during the afternoon (i.e. bowling, wall climbing, water park, etc.) We do our best to rotate through the various school calendars so if you have school on this day, sit tight, the next one might be scheduled on your day off.
- On Good Friday, 6th-12th graders have an opportunity to come together to experience an Overnight Fasting Retreat where we focus on the sacrifices Jesus made and follow His example through service, fasting, reflection and action.
- During the summertime, St. Joseph's joins other local churches, combining efforts for Summer Stretch which brings youth in 6th-8th grade and high school leaders together for worship, bible study, community service, fun, and fellowship during a week long program. Summer Stretch also includes trips to various fun locations like Valley Fair and Bunker Beach.
