St. Joseph of the Lakes is proud to have an active faith community - there’s always something going on! Be sure check the listing below for news & events. And don’t forget to check back often for updates!

Low Gluten Hosts

St. Joe's is no longer offering gluten free hosts due to the fact that without wheat they are invalid matter for the celebration of the Eucharist. We will now have a low gluten host option that has less than 0.01% gluten content which is understood to be less than 20 parts per million. If you have questions you can check out the article here or stop in at the Usher’s Room to pick up a paper copy. Ministry of Video Operator

We’re thrilled to be using our video system and screens for the first time this weekend. Adding them to our liturgies allows us to experience the mass with additional visual impact. Some of us experience things well with our ears, some more so with our eyes, some with noses, and some with our taste buds or by touching them.  How wonderful that at mass we have the opportunity to take in the liturgy using all of them. As we hear the Word proclaimed and see the words to our responses on the screens, we perhaps come to understand them in a deeper way. As we sing, music vibrates through us and we pray in a different way. As we receive the Body and Blood of Christ we use touch and taste to fully experience communion.

If you have not felt called to be a part of our liturgies in any of these areas, we have something new to offer – Ministry of Video Operator. Please contact Anne Serwe at 651-784-3015 x 103 or at if you are interested in this important ministry.

Men's Group Paul Bunyan Saturday - August 19

We have three trees down in St. Joe's Cemetery, and all parish men and young guys are invited to help the Men's Group split and stack the logs for firewood sales to support our student scholarships. We will meet in the cemetery starting at 8:00 am. Come anytime that morning, whenever it fits your schedule. It's fun work, and you will enjoy the camaraderie. See you there!
